Title: Mechanical tests and identification of parameters for metal forming processes

Subject Index Codes: Policies; Legislation, Regulations; Scientific Research; Transport; Materials Technology; Meteorology

Objective: Computer models are now widely used in the early tool design stages for metal forming processes. The quality of simulations is limited by the accuracy of input parameters, i.e. the data for large strain material behaviour and of the tool-workpiece interface. Parameters are identified from laboratory tests. Methodologies are needed to obtain quickly reliable material data. The goal is to develop and compare hot deformation test for identifying such parameters. The most commonly used tests are studied: torsion, axisymetric and plane strain compressions. The output will include
